Germany manager Hansi Flick plans to use captain and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer in Germany’s game against North Macedonia on Monday night in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Before heading to Skopje, Flick told Hamburg on Sunday that Neuer, 35, had completely passed the training and expected the possibility of his participation in the game.
Neuer missed the national team’s game against Romania on Friday due to muscle problems and was replaced by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
Flick added that he would like to see a German team move to Skopje “with tremendous efficiency”, noting that the goal is to confirm the reservation of a World Cup ticket.
The German team leads their group with 18 points, ahead of North Macedonia, which occupies second place with 12 points, the same points record as Armenia, which occupies third place.
