The movement announced the visit of a delegation of the latter to Cairo to discuss issues, the most important of which are the development of the Palestinian cause, the redevelopment of the Palestinian house, Jerusalem, prisoners and reconstruction.
She said the Hamas delegation, headed by Ismail Haniyeh, met with Egyptian Director of Intelligence Major General Abbas Kamel in a positive atmosphere, where the two sides discussed many issues at the level of political developments and on the terrain, bilateral relations, the means to achieve the unity of the Palestinian people and the arrangement of the Palestinian home.
The Hamas delegation expressed appreciation for Egypt’s great role towards the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, and its ongoing meetings with the leadership of the movement.
The movement’s delegation expressed its appreciation for the measures taken by Egypt towards the Gaza Strip, whether on the issue of the Rafah crossing, or measures to alleviate the siege and participate in the reconstruction and reconstruction of which has been destroyed, while calling for more such measures, in particular those related to the movement of citizens and commercial traffic.
The two sides discussed ways to restore national unity and develop the Palestinian home, where the Hamas delegation affirmed the movement’s willingness and commitment to restore unity and end the division.
Egypt had informed Palestinian factions to postpone meetings to be held in Cairo last June to discuss reconciliation, calm and reconstruction, without setting a new date.
At that point, Egypt decided to give the factions more time to consult and agree on the differences related to the root files, which the Palestinians see as the cause of all the divisions that are occurring, such as the status of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the election record. .
